Author Guidelines

TATHO: International Journal of Islamic Thought and Sciences (openly accepts contributions from researchers, academics, and practitioners from various related disciplines. The author's guidelines will be explained as follows :

Script Type

Accepted manuscripts are articles that have never been published before (original). Manuscripts can be in the form of journal research reports or review articles. Manuscripts are written in English and must be submitted online to the TATHO: International Journal of Islamic Thought and Sciences portal at: http://ejournal.tathoinstitute.org/index.php/tatho

Steps to Submit a Manuscript

  1. Authors must register and check the "author" field on the Register page: http://ejournal.tathoinstitute.org/index.php/tatho/user/register;
  2. After Logging in, click "New Submission". The stages of article submission are as follows :
  1. Make a Submission: Enter the Title of your article, then tick Submission Checklist, and tick Privacy Consent. After that, click Begin Submission;
  2. In the Details section, enter the complete: Title, Keywords, Abstract, and References for your article. Then click Continue;
  3. In the Upload Files section, upload the article manuscript file in Ms.Word (.doc) format, after entering, select the Article Text type. Then click Continue;
  4. In the Contributors section, please enter all authors' data, affiliations, and email. If there is more than one author, click 'Add Contributor', then fill in their data like the first author, and so on. Then click Continue;
  5. In the For the Editors section, please add any information that you think our editorial staff should know when evaluating your submission, or it can also be left blank. Then click Continue;
  6. In the Review section, review the information you have entered before you complete your submission. You can change any of the details displayed here by clicking the edit button at the top of each section. Then click SUBMIT if all the data is correct;
  7. Once you complete your submission, a member of our editorial team will be assigned to review it. Please ensure the details you have entered here are as accurate as possible.

General Instructions

  1. Submit articles to the editor online through the Open Journal System (OJS);
  2. The article is an original work (does not contain elements of plagiarism or data fabrication), is research-based, has never been published in scientific journals or book form, and is not being submitted to other periodical journals;
  3. Articles are written using standard English with a length of between 5000 and 8000 words, or about 15-20 pages, including figures, graphs, and tables (if any), on A4 paper size (21 x 29.7 cm), with margin distance (left 3 cm, right 3 cm, top 3 cm, bottom 3 cm), using Cambria font type (12 pt), 1.15 space, and in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx);
  4. Articles should be formatted according to the writing pattern of scientific journals. The rules in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), Seventh Edition should be followed. You can use a reference management application such as "Mendeley" and select the American Psychological Association (APA) settings for 7th Edition.   5. When the submission status (article) is under review or has been published for this Journal, authors will not be allowed to submit articles to other journals.

Special Instructions

  1. Articles should be related to the specified Focus and Scope;
  2. The article's peer review process uses the "double-blind peer review" method so that the author's name, affiliation, and email, as well as the identity of the reviewer, will be hidden during the peer review process. This is done to avoid any conflict of interest;
  3. Please provide the author's phone number during registration so that we can contact/communicate easily;
  4. The content of the article should include the following components:
  1. Title. A short, concise, and clear formulation may be more creative to attract readers. Maximum 12-15 words may be made in the format of a big title and a small title, where the small title explains the meaning of the big title;
  2. Identity of Authors. Include all authors involved in writing the article. Write the author's full name without title, affiliation, and email address;
  3. Abstract. Written concisely and factually, including research objectives, methods, results and conclusions. The length of the abstract ranges from 150-200 words in one paragraph. Avoid the use of abbreviations or quotations;
  4. Keywords. Choose words containing the main concepts discussed in the article, representing the topic discussed. Write 3-5 words or phrases, and separate them using commas;
  5. Introduction. It should contain the background, research objectives of the article, previous similar studies, to justify the novelty of the article/research conducted (there should be references to journals in the last ten years); some literature that serves as a theoretical basis; and research methods used;
  6. Discussion. The discussion section should be titled a Chapter, a statement of the research objectives. You may use subtitles in the discussion according to the research indicators or the needs of the discussion. The discussion may include figures and tables, but the author must explain the purpose of the figures and tables and include the source of the figures and tables;
  7. Conclusion. Presented in short, concise, and clear paragraphs based on the discussion and suggested pathways for further research. This section should also highlight the implications of the findings;
  8. References. Journal sources from the last ten years are recommended. Provide a list of references alphabetically and prepared following the American Psychological Journal Referencing Style (7th Edition). All references must be cited in the text, and all in-text citations must be listed in the reference list. A DOI for each reference should be provided if available. It is recommended that authors use a reference manager application such as Mendeley or Zotero.
